Technical Characteristics

Venturi Valve System*

ELICIAE MV20 utilizes a Venturi valve system, which allows it to operate in sync with the patient’s natural breathing cycle, significantly minimizing resistance pressure on patients with reduced and/or recovering pulmonary function.

*Venturi valve is a product resulting from Metran research, installed on a wide range of devices including the high-end high-frequency ventilators (HFO Humming II, HFO Humming V).

Pressure-Controlled Ventilation (PCV)

ELICIAE MV20 ventilator operates in time cycled pressure-controlled ventilation, in which inspiration airflow can be compensated by the Venturi valve during patient’s spontaneous breathing cycle. The function uses an established pressure level (peak inspiration pressure, PIP) and PEEP to provide a volume flow equal to the lung’s current tidal volume during each required inspiration cycle.

Heat and Moisture Exchangers (HME)

ELICIAE MV20 ventilation system combines heat and moisture exchangers with bacterial filters (HME) with a closed tracheal suction system to significantly reduce the chance of cross infection for patients and medical personnel.
